Hiya! The weather here in NH has been
beautiful. I planted flowers in my yard, pansies and a
few other brightly-colored blossoms. I'm not much of a
gardener, unlike my grandmother who always had a lush garden
filled with all sorts of flowers and veggies. Believe
it or not, my gardening tools are a metal spatula that I
once used to flip pancakes and a salad fork! Who needs
a shovel and hand-rake when you have old utensils!?
(My Grammy would laugh if she saw me flipping dirt and
forking soil!) Someday I'd like to plant something
edible, but chances are I'd forget about watering them and
they'd become compost :)
Let's move on to my pen to paper
creativeness. I've been working on a new children's
book. It's a book I started a few months ago and I had
put it aside to stew. Now that I've pick it up again
I'm really enjoying the premise and the way the characters
are developing. I'm hoping to have it finished by the
end of summer and ready to submit to publishers.
I must mention Vampire Diaries!
It's such a great series and my newest TV addiction.
It'll keep me amused until True Blood comes back.
There aren't many TV shows that actually hook me, some
series I'll watch just because there's nothing better on.
I hate to admit it, but I do like one or two reality shows
too ;)
Well, it's time for me to go fill my cup
with some steamy coffee, devour some dark chocolate and
spend some time with my kids. Life is good.
Until next time....

Hiya! Since I'm the gal behind this little nest on the
web—I believe it’s only fair I expose myself
(metaphorically, giving my page-surfers a look into my
world). I want
to keep it real. Yes,
I am a children's author.
Yes, I am a website creator.
Yes, I write a regularly featured column for the
newspaper. Yes,
I am a professional. But
I am only human too ;)
Outside
of running this website, I am a mom, wife, daughter, sister,
aunty, cousin, niece, friend, writer…simply, I am many
people rolled into one!
Of course, like everyone on this planet, life hands
us good days and crazy days—but even on the craziest of
days, I love my life. I
have an awesome posse of family and friends, especially my
kids, my hubby, my parents, and my four amazing sisters and
my adorable, little brother (though he’s 26-yrs-old and
several inches taller than me).
This
week after endless hours of getting The Savvy Click updated,
I finally have time to tackle some other projects.
Though now I’m not sure what I’ll being doing to
rid myself of the "raccoon eyes"
I was gifted for all my hard work or the scary-looking
twitches I've developed from the never-ending cups of java!
Did I mention I also need hair-dye too because the
wiry grays are popping? I guess it’s part of the price we pay to succeed goals...or
it’s just that I’m 40-yrs-old and need more than 3 to
4-hrs sleep per night! <
Grin!>
In
other news, my daughter (nearly 20-yrs-old) brought home a
bunny, named Drifter, with splay-leg.
Both my daughter and son are smitten.
We already have two dogs and a hamster. Now we
have a dwarf bunny occasionally hopping around leaving what
looks like chocolate sprinkles for me to vacuum. Thank
goodness for bunny cages!
So,
what are my plans for the upcoming week?
I won’t be confusing wax paper for parchment paper
again! Last
week I had baked cookies, grabbed the wrong paper and my
house was filled with smoke. I had to toss a whole sheet of cookies in the trash (and they
were chocolate too, my favorite!!).
Any future baking will be done carefully…LOL!
As for my upcoming plans, I’ll be doing yard work,
painting my bedroom, preparing for an upcoming school visit,
blogging here when I can, writing, working on The Savvy
Click and just enjoying my peeps (and not the marshmallow
kind, I mean my family).
In
between all the work, there is play -- I'll probably light
candles daily (love the smell of candles lit around the
house), soak up any available sunshine because I heart
summer, turn up the tunes and shake my booty often as a form
of exercise while I'm cleaning, seek a shoe intervention (I
am addicted to shoes) and look forward to upcoming birthday
parties and gatherings.
Until
next time….
Smiles,
Tabatha
